MANTRA SAKALA BEACH CLUB - Tanjung Benoa, Bali


It was our first ever visit to Tanjung Benoa on our last day trip in Bali, 19 July 2016. And our first stop here was Mantra Sakala Beach Club. Undoubtedly, one of the most eye catching beach club around the area that you can really see right from the main street of Tanjung Benoa. We decided to have our lunch here, just next to the beautiful swimming pool.

It was raining since the morning that day and even in the afternoon around 12:30 PM on our way here. Mantra Sakala Resort and The Beach Club are separated by street, so you have to park your car on the main building and cross the road to the beach club. But, its worth your visit here because the first time you step into the beach club, all you can see is the beautiful swimming pool and the infinite horizontal sea & sky line in front of you.

We were lucky to be able to talk and share some information about this resort with their Public Relation Executive and Assistant Director of Marketing & Communication. They talked quite a lot about Mantra chain, about the food blogger industry and the property trend. Glad to know that Mantra Sakala is the first 5 star resort by Mantra Group, which is based in Australia. You can really tell from the luxurious interior, the hospitality and all the facilities that they offer. And it was an honor for us that the General Manager managed to greet us during our lunch, he was really nice :)

TROPICAL DELIGHT - IDR 60.000

[The yellow one] Pineapple juice, passionfruit puree, apple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Very refreshing with a mix of sweet and sour.

DRYPIROSCA - IDR 60.000

[The short glass] Lime, Lemon, Orange, Brown Sugar and Ginger Ale.


FLAMENGO - IDR 60.000

Strawberry, mango, pineapple, pineapple juice, simple syrup. This is really healthy.

 

COCKTAIL OF THE DAY - IDR 100.000

OVEN ROASTED CHICKEN - IDR 140.000

Started off with the first main course: slow roasted chicken breast and leg, ratatouille, organic mixed vegetable & truffle oil. Anything with truffle oil will never go wrong. The plating was on point!


PAN SEARED TASMANIAN SALMON - IDR 160.000

This is a gluten free menu. My wife loves Salmon like she can have 2-3 times salmon dishes a week (only when we are travelling). This is Salmon fillet with endive & oyster mushrooms, zucchini veloute, broad beans, new potatoes, cherry tomatoes & orange balsamic vinaigrette. I know this sounds like really complicated, but its really easy to eat :p The salmon was really fresh though. I highly recommend this dish.


CHAR GRILLED BEEF TENDERLOIN - IDR 210.000

Australian beef tenderloin 160 gram with potato au gratin, organic vegetables, red wine sauce & caramelized shallot. I requested for medium cooked. The seasoning was a little bland, but probably with a little pinch of salt would be perfect. The potato au gratin was fine.


MANGO PUDDING - IDR 70.000

I've seen a lot of mango pudding desserts out there. But here's the thing, the pudding was nothing like other. Its a slow cooked mango with coconut milk, so you can still taste the rough texture of mango. The mango was sweet and perfectly matched with the unique coconut sorbet and pearl tapioca. Recommended!


CHOCOLATE BROWNIES - IDR 85.000


I have to admit that this was really good and I really mean it. The brownies' texture was thick and dense but the combination with the chocolate mouse and pistachio nuts on top was blending together perfectly. The sour passionfruit sauce makes it even distinctive than any other brownies dessert I have ever had. This dessert is Recommended as well!


[SUMMARY] It was really a pleasure for us to experience lunch at one of the best beach club in Tanjung Benoa. The two desserts that we tried were genious! Having some mocktail or cocktail on the pool side is also a great idea. Thanks for the hospitality.
