MOUTON SLICE & GRILL - Kebayoran Baru

First of all, congratulation for the opening of the third branch of Mouton Slice & Grill at Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. We got the chance to visit here last week (October 20) for a dinner and it was totally a pleasure to be here. Why? Because they incorporate western style barbeque with asian / indonesian somes perfect sauces for the dipping. Let's check out our experience here.

They open everyday only for dinner time from 6 - 11 PM. And FYI, the food here is relatively cheap compared to big names in Jakarta. Mouton is actually originated from Bandung and they spread their wing to Jakarta at Kelapa gading and Kebayoran Baru.

This is Lamb Leg 450 gram! Well actually this was only for our photograph purpose, so we didn't try it because we already had plentiful of food on the table. But, as what we saw from their official Instagram, they are currently offering free flow lamb lag until November! So make sure to check out their Instagram @mouton_kby for more info.

So, this was our food, from grilled chicken, ribs, tenderloin to lamb. We got the pre-cooked grilled chicken and ribs, so these two are ready to eat. While for the lamb and tenderloin, its better to grill it for a moment until cooked and dip it on your favorite sauces.

So before we jump into the food, you have to check out the dipping sauce selections! They have like 10 different sauces from spicy kecap manis, garlic chilli oil, sambal, acar sauce, pesto, butter, sesame oil, yakiniku, soy sauce to jinten powder (the left most). We have two favorite sauces here: The sambal (the red one) and the Jinten Powder. The Jinten pawder smells and tastes really similar to chinese mala chili that you can find at chinese street style skewers or in a chinese style red hot oily soup. Really love it!

Let's start off with this grilled chicken. It is boneless marinated chicken with herbs. It is actually ready to eat but if you wanna grill it for a moment, its gonna be more smokey. The meat was so tender and smooth, I felt like chewing sashimi seriously! And its perfect with rice and sambal.

The second one is short ribs. It may look like burned from the top, but the underneath was heavenly tender, juicy, succulent and easily pulled off of the bone! The meat was really thick as you can see the layers of meat on the second picture below. Btw this is ready to eat and it is a must order when you visit here.

We also tried their tenderloin and lamb. The tenderloin was fine, but the lamb was kinda chewy. They have already half-cooked and marinated some herbs for you, so you don't need to grill it too long. You can try to dip them on different sauces. The chef recommends to mix pesto paste and sweet soy sauce together for the dipping sauce. And yes, its really good!

Overall, we really satisfied with our dining experience here. Its delicious and affordable, and the service was perfect. We really felt the warm welcome here.
