PENNYROYAL COFFEE - Pantai Indah Kapuk

It's my 3rd Coffee Shop Review!

Everyweek, I hunt for at least one new coffee shop in Jakarta, because I'm a coffee addict! And this week, I have been so curious with a coffee shop around Pantai Indah Kapuk area, that has been a new hype for some coffee lovers / food bloggers. I'm talking about Pennyroyal Coffee.

They have just Soft Opened the shop for 10 weeks as of this post (July 12th 2015). And since I was coming with some friend there, I could snap some various coffees there.

But first off all, the mastermind behind every great coffee is the Barista. And here, this guy is the one responsible for this addicting coffee! Lets take a look at the interior design.

MENU LISTS

Lets start with the coffee menu. They have 9 coffee variations and a Hot Chocolate. They serve some pastries as well, such as Banana Bread (its pretty common to see this in most coffee shop), Apple Choco Cake, Dark Chocolate Cake, Pork Puff Pastry, and Afteraise's Donuts. My friend tried the Pork Puff Pastry and its a petite sized puff for IDR 28.000 Nett.

LETS START WITH THE COFFEE!!!

The first cup (the transparant without plate) is the Latte. I didn't taste it but it should be less intense than the Capucinno (CMIIW). The Red Cup is the Capucinno, well I can say its a pretty good capucinno there. I've been reviewing Retorika Coffee and Six Ounces Coffee last week. And for me they pretty have similar taste especially between Retorika and Pennyroyal. Both coffee are stronger than normal capucinno for my taste. But as a coffee lover, you must be looking for the strong one right?

I also tried their Picollo Latte (the transparant glass with the blue plate) and this is my second time trying Piccolo ever after Six Ounces Coffee. If you never heard of Piccolo, it is almost similar to Capucinno but it is smaller in size and more bitter than Capucinno. The term Piccolo refers to a shot of Ristretto which is an extraction of espresso that produces about 15-20 mls of liquid, then topped with warm milk and served in a 100 ml glass size (sorry I googled for this :p ) So, if you like a very strong coffee then this might be your favorite.

I don't know exactly how much for those coffee, but for one Capucinno and one Piccolo is IDR 72.000 Nett. So, around IDR 30.000+ each cup.

The last cup is black coffee (the green tosca cup). Not sure how it tasted, but well black coffee is suitable for those who like pure coffee without milk. No explanation needed :)

The room was fully packed with customers during the weekend, so you gotta wait outside to get seats in the room. But they have 2 tables outside for those who can stand the heat or need to smoke. Unfortunately, they don't have main courses so you don't expect to have breakfast or lunch here. But, its a good place and good coffee to chat with friends, at least in Pantai Indah Kapuk area.
