HIDE & SEEK SWILLHOUSE - Fairground SCBD

[RESTAURANT REVIEW] Frankly, SCBD is one of the place that we rarely step on due to the type of the restaurant. Fairground at SCBD is popular with the lounge, bar and typically 'The Night Life' where normally on the weekend night, people come here for party or having fun with friends. Hide & Seek Swillhouse has been a part of Fairground for at least one year and we were honored to take part of the food testing event. We were quite surprised with the quality and the range of food here, not forgetting the beautiful mocktail, cocktail and beers :)

Hide & Seek Swillhouse is still on the same place as The Goods Diner or Lucy in The Sky. But the main entrance is a little bit hiding on the most right part of the Fairground Lobby. Its quite interesting because the front entrance was like a 1.5 meters wide open door and you walked around 30-40 meters alley into their main door. You'll gonna be surprised with the spacious area of the restaurant inside.

Its a typical western kinda bar with a few comfy red sofas. They open daily at 11 AM in the afternoon and close very late at night especially on the weekend. Reservation is advised on the weekend as we can imagine the crowd at night and the kinda music they play. They also have DJ playing on the weekend, so make sure to check out their latest promotion and event.

Starting off the lunch with this super chilling Kiwi Mocktail with some carbonated water, kiwi juice and chuncks of kiwi fruits. Very refreshing!

This is another refreshing Orange Lychee Mocktail, a combination of orange juice, lime juice and some lychee fruits.

HOMEMADE BITTERBALLEN - IDR 55.000

First starter! Deep fried ragout balls (from potato) served with dijon mustard. Just as great as the traditional kroket kentang (potato croquet). Crispy on the outside and soft warm on the inside.

QUESADILLAS - IDR 69.000

Had this great tapas as second starter: flour tortilla, shredded roasted chicken, jalapeno, egmont cheese, served with pico de galo and sour cream. Well, we put the sour cream on top of the tortilla then sprinkled some pico de galo (salsa tomato). Very great appetizer.

Our first main course was this Spaghetti in tomato based sauce with fresh prawn and goat cheese. I love the fresh cooked prawn, very well seasoned. But a little critic for the spaghetti, its slightly firm and dry for my liking. The Chef thought that we took a little while for taking photos of the dish which made it dry. But, otherwise its a great dish.

PAN SEARED SALMON FILLET - IDR 149.000

Second dish was this pan seared Salmon with hollandaise sauce, mashed potato and fresh veggie. Perfectly cooked Salmon and perfect sauce, the only downside is we want more! LOL

PULLED CHICKEN SANDWICH - IDR 89.000

Pulled chicken braised in homemade buffalo sauce, coleslaw, brioche bun and french fries. Not sure what is buffalo sauce *from buffalo extract? :p* but that certainly sweet and mild spicy. Very good!

CHOPPED STEAK - IDR 129.000

This is part of their All Day Brunch menu. Its a homemade beef patty served with peppery mushroom sauce and mashed potato. The beef patty was spot on, perfectly grilled!

PRIME RIBS GARANG ASAM - IDR 189.000

300 gram premium ribs bone & 100 gram sliced imported sirloin braised in spicy sour broth with chilli and green tomato. Perfect with steamed rice and fried shallot. Imagine having it while the soup was still boiling and the rice was still steaming hot :p

SEARED BARRAMUNDI - IDR 149.000

Pan Seared Barramundi with pumpkin risotto and watercress. I guess the picture speaks for itself. Very well plated and beautiful colors combination. Actually, this is my very first time having risotto! I know it sounds embarrassing as a food blogger but for one reason, I thought that risotto = rice which is something that we eat everyday. So, I never tried it anywhere else :p

NUTELLA FRENCH TOAST - IDR 75.000

Actually, we really had a hard time looking for this dessert on the menu book. Because apparently, it was on the All Day Brunch part (the front page of the menu). But, this was served the latest as dessert LOL.

This was a very soft sweet bread with sugar icing on top and nutella in the middle. Then, served with whipped cream, fresh strawberry, maple syrup and butterscoth sauce. That was really good though it looks like ropang :)

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE - IDR 55.000

Deconstructured with fresh strawberries, lemon cream and strawberry jam. The cake was really fluffy soft and a little sweet, kinda like kue bolu. The cream looks like a normal cream until we tried it and it has a hint of lemon.

BROWNIE - IDR 55.000

Homemade fudge brownies served with vanilla ice cream and butterscotch sauce. You know the feeling when having a warm brownie and a cold sweet ice cream, DAMN GOOD! The brownie itself was really soft and moist.

[Summary] This is such a cozy and homey lounge and bar kind of restaurant in the afternoon and a club on the weekend night. The foods were overall amazing 5 stars quality, unarguably, despite a little critic on the spaghetti. Desserts were top notch, even though it came from a simple idea. Drinks were perfect for a thirst quenching. Overall, definitely a place to visit!
